Adnan Sami planning World Tour 2011

Pak musician Adnan Sami last made news when he wasn’t allowed to fly out of India for the launch of a perfume that dedicated a signature line to him.

The singer and music composer had to obtain special permissions from the court to go abroad and the formalities, he says, could not be completed on time.

But not one to be deterred, Adnan is planning a world tour sometime around coming July. “Yes, previously I couldn’t leave the country on account of a short notice to the court. But plans for the world tour are being worked out. We’re in the middle of finalising the exact dates. We will be touring Australia and New Zealand first. After that we will be headed to the US, Canada and the UK,” confirms Adnan.

But that is not the only reason the singer is on cloud nine these days. Adnan was bestowed with an award for his contribution to music by a non-profit organisation at a function in mid-February. His award might be seen as a breather at a time when the music industry is riddled in controversy in the context of Pakistani artistes performing in India. Reacting to the award, Adnan says, “It’s a great source of pride for me. Awards, in any case, are lovely gestures of appreciation.”

The PSA Formal, held on the 4th of March, was a fun filled night for all those who attended. Although it started out as a slow night, by the end of the event, the floor was shaking with all the attendees jumping and dancing. The first event at the PSA Formal was a fashion show hosted by Paisley and Pearl. Right after, a group of Bhangra Dancers rocked the floor. Soon after, when the actual concert itself had started commenced, Q and Rup from JoSH came running onto the stage and started their performance which was loved by everyone standing around the stage. After singing a whole bunch of songs and showing their support for the Pakistani Cricket Team, JoSH ended their performance. The next big event was RDB’s big performance. The crowd went wild as soon as Kuly, Manj, Surj and Nindy stepped on to the stage and started their performance. A big thank you to the PSA Team for organizing this lively performance, and enjoy the PakMusic coverage pictures from the night.

George ka khuda hafiz — I

Read this great article by George Fulton who started the documentary "George ka Pakistan" on Geo. Here's what he has to say :

Source : Tribune

For the past nine years, I have been in a dysfunctional relationship. My liaison started somewhat unexpectedly, quickly becoming an all-consuming passionate love affair. My partner reciprocated strongly, bestowing deep affection and adoration upon me. Blinded by love, I was naive to her failings. Yes, at times she was self-destructive, irrational and grossly irresponsible, but I hoped by appealing to her nature’s better angles she could change. Instead, as the years progressed, and, supported by her ‘friends’ in the media, she corroded, simultaneously displaying signs of megalomania and paranoia. Once the relationship turned abusive and I feared for my life, I decide to call it quits. Today, the divorce comes through. Hername is Pakistan. And today, I am leaving her for good.

Ali Zafar to paint Katrina?

http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/11/feb/ali-zafar-katrina-kaif.jpgThe fact that Ali Zafar is a multi-talented actor is no secret. Apart from acting, Ali loves to sing and paint. He has numerous albums in his name and is busy promoting his current one - JHOOM.

Currently, riding high on his last success; TERE BIN LADEN, Ali is on signing spree in B-Town. The latest is that he may be part of Yash Raj's DHOOM 3 too. Ali is currently busy with Yash Raj Films' MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN with Imran and Katrina Kaif in the lead.

Now a source reveals that Ali Zafar is planning to showcase his painting side too and is thinking of casting Katrina on his canvass. Adds the source, "Ali Zafar is an artist to the core. Be it acting, singing or painting. So, recently someone suggested Ali to paint Katrina, the actor spotted a smile in agreement and might actually go ahead to do it. But, no one knows how soon will that be."

For the moment the actor in Ali has taken the lead. Let's hope his painting side too is not a reality that gets sidelined for long.
