They know music and what is beyond it. They are responsible for giving Pakistan some of its young punk groove back, not forgetting the couple of great musicians they gave the industry, even if on their own loss (Gumby anyone?) when it comes to Noori, it is such a relief that one has so much to write in the introduction and that too for a band, that needs no introduction, how convenient!

Jhoom lay(Jam version) is the new video that recently splashed across the internet. Brought a definitive smile across Noori fans and a frown for anyone who thought Noori did the wrong thing falling for the endorsement trap, I mean it was “Cornetto”! Our most loved and out of budget on any given day, Ice-cream cone! NOT HARPIC! Anyways Tabs apart. Noori fulfilled wish of many. Bringing a proper noorified version of the song people apparently did not get enough of the first time around, or so Noori thought. Jhoom Lay is an attacking track that in my opinion is a homage to their earliest songs which brought them the cheers and accolades (Dil ki qasam anyone?). All those haters out there might think it’s corny, to pay homage to yourself. But when Noori does it, you know it will be the right way up and of course their timing is Impeccable!

Track in itself is good progressively, with exceptional guitar work and Vocals are never a problem with noori, at least in the studio they aren’t. Ali Hamza is a surprise package here, we always knew all about Ali nor, but Hamza is a different game all together, if I am right the guy seems to be growing out of his shell, DEFINITELY NICER HAIRDO! Yes! I admit I always have had problem with digesting the lyric content noori offers, this is no exception in that respect. I do wonder what happened to the word “Dil” if nothing then why is it being replaced by “mann” everywhere I see, but that discussion is for another time and place.

Rating : 7.5/10

SO enjoy the track here if it is the sort of thing you like. Otherwise, listen to it for the sake of some mean riffs here and there. Keep listening to QUALITY PAKISTANI MUSIC, and don’t forget to enlighten us with your opinion.
