Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to perform in Delhi
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan may have got in trouble with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) for carrying a big bundle of undeclared cash the last time he performed at a Delhi wedding a month ago, but that hasn't deterred the Pakistani singer from coming to enthrall the city's audience again, it seems.
Rahat, who was said to have stated that he would only come back to India again if 'respectfully invited,' will perform in Delhi at a pre-wedding function being hosted by the Dhoot family on March 11, we hear .
Says a source, "It's a special musical night, and Rahat is the star attraction. The function will be held at the Dhoot residence on Amrita Shergill Marg on March 11. Rahat will probably perform for 2-3 hours, and there are a few other performances lined up too. His usual fee for such a performance would be `20-25 lakh." The source adds that such entertainment nights, especially with performances by international singers, have become quite popular in Delhi. In the last two months itself, Delhi weddings have seen two performances by UK-based band Stereo Nation and Dholi Deep from the US. Says the source, "The city's seen half a dozen 'Rahat' nights in the past year. They've become so popular that one often also sees gatecrashers at these shaadis."
